New Wellington dates, 2008 Diploma students welcomed
The latest WSET Level 2 Intermediate Class has begun and is full to the brim. If you are interested in taking this course, contact us now to book for the next one which will start on Monday 28th July.
We will be running a condensed WSET Level 3 Advanced Course in Wellington soon. This will involve students undertaking some self study prior to attending an intensive two day course held over a weekend, with the examination planned for the Monday morning. At this stage the course is planned for the beginning of August. Send us an email if you are interested in receiving details of the course. Places are limited.
Our next Auckland-based Advanced Course will start in the next school term ie. after the July holidays. The course will consist of a two hour lesson each week, for 14 weeks, followed by an exam a couple of weeks later.
Welcome to our latest intake of WSET Diploma students. It was great to meet everyone and finally put names to faces. The first course day was spent intensively tasting wines across the syllabus and learning how to construct a Diploma style written note. On the second day we made visits to Kumeu River Winery where Michael Brajkovich took us on a visit to the winery and cellars and hosted a fascinating tasting of his single vineyard chardonnays. After lunch we went to Coopers Creek Winery where Simon Nunns gave a great talk on winemaking and let us taste (amongst others) his brand new Gruner Veltliner. Thank you very much to both winemakers and wineries for so much precious information and bringing the subjects of vinification and viticulture to life!
